Are you working to help LGBTIQ+ communities build economic independence? The Fund Our Freedoms “Build – Earn – Thrive” Initiative 2026 offers up to $50,000 for projects that promote entrepreneurship and inclusion. Led by Outright International, this grant targets efforts in Africa to create fair economic chances for marginalized groups.

About the Initiative

The Build – Earn – Thrive (BET) Initiative works to build economic systems where everyone, no matter their identity, can join in and gain from business activities. It backs projects that aid LGBTIQ+ people in beating job and startup hurdles, mainly in places where bias blocks paths to work. The goal is lasting self-support through smart business ideas.

Funding Details

Grants go up to $50,000 USD per project. Each project runs 18 to 24 months, with a start date around July 1, 2026. Funds go to plans that show they can last, grow, and make real change over time.

Focus Areas

This grant centers on entrepreneurship growth, such as business training and mentorship, help with business plans and market checks, startup support and incubation, links to formal jobs, and better access to money and income sources. Projects that mix business skills with pushes for rights, learning, or big system fixes score high.

What They’re Looking For
