Are you a young person passionate about climate change? The UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment Hub Youth Event 2026 offers a chance to join global leaders in Bonn, Germany. This event brings together youth to learn skills and take action on climate issues.
Event Overview
The 2026 UNFCCC Action for Climate Empowerment Hub Youth Event takes place from June 4 to 6 in Bonn, Germany. It happens right before the 64th session of the Subsidiary Bodies, or SBs. The German regional government of North Rhine-Westphalia, or NRW, supports the ACE Hub to boost education, public awareness, training, access to information, and participation in climate action.
This in-person event runs in English with partners from around the world. Youth will focus on links between local and global climate efforts. The goal is to build leadership and innovation for real change.
Program Highlights
Over three days, expect interactive training modules. Topics include meaningful youth roles in policymaking, skill-building, and using informal ways to engage communities. Learn to raise awareness, inspire sustainable habits, and more.
A key part is an off-campus trip to Düsseldorf to see local climate action up close. Participants will help start an ACE Hub Youth Event Alumni Network. The event stresses exchange, collaboration, and networking. You will gain tools to bring back home and scale up in your community.
Who Can Apply and Funding
The event funds at least 5 international youth, including 2 Indigenous youth or those from local communities. It also covers 15 youth living in the NRW region of Germany. Self-funded or externally funded youth planning to attend SB64 can apply too. You must secure your funding before applying.
YOUNGO, the Official Children and Youth Constituency of the UNFCCC, handles selection for NRW and international spots. The process aims for fairness, inclusion, geographical balance, gender equality, and diverse backgrounds. People from all fields are welcome.
