What is ASEFYLS?
The ASEF Young Leaders Summit, or ASEFYLS, connects young people from Asia and Europe. It builds a network of leaders through three key areas: self-leadership, team leadership, and societal leadership. Participants learn to spark curiosity, innovation, and understanding across cultures.

Programme Theme: Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future
ASEFYLS 2026 explores “Anticipatory Leadership for a Human-Centred Future.” You will study trends and early signals of change. The program covers strategic foresight, systems thinking, and the ethics of technologies like AI.

What to Expect in ASEFYLS 2026
The program runs from June to November 2026 in three phases.
Training Phase (Online)
From 9 June to 30 July 2026, join online sessions about four hours each week. Cover anticipatory leadership, systems thinking, and foresight tools. Discuss how technology shapes ethical leadership.
Action Phase (Local Implementation)
From August to November 2026, run multiplier events in your community. Share what you learned and create grassroots impact. Move from theory to hands-on change.
Optional In-Person Training (Selected Participants)
Top 40 participants join the Asia-Europe Youth Leadership Training in Tromsø, Norway, from 23 to 29 August 2026. Use the Arctic as a case study for anticipatory leadership. Enjoy cross-cultural talks and expert sessions. Travel, lodging, and meals are covered.
Eligibility Criteria
You must be 18 to 30 years old and a citizen of an Asian or European country. Students or young professionals qualify if active in youth or student groups. Show leadership experience and community work. Strong English skills are needed.
Selection looks at your motivation, past leadership, and ability to make local impact.
Programme Benefits
There are no fees to join. Selected in-person attendees get travel help, plus accommodation and meals. Gain access to a global youth leader network. Receive practical training in leadership and future thinking.
Commitment Required
During training, attend two online sessions per week and finish self-paced tasks. Plan and host community events. If chosen for Norway, take part fully.
