Are you a young South African looking to build a career in boilermaking or welding? The Steinmüller Africa Apprenticeships 2026 offer a great chance for unemployed youth to gain real skills. This program runs in Bethal, Mpumalanga, and helps you become a certified artisan.

About the Steinmüller Africa Apprenticeships 2026

Steinmüller Africa works with Bilfinger Intervalve Africa to provide these apprenticeships. The goal is to train skilled workers from communities near Kriel Power Station. You will mix classroom learning with hands-on work to prepare for a solid trade career.

Programme Duration

The training lasts at least 36 months, or three years. This gives you plenty of time to master the skills step by step. By the end, you will be ready for the trade test.

What the Apprenticeship Covers

In the program, you will complete merSETA accredited modules for theory and practice. You will get on-the-job training and real workplace experience. After passing the trade test, you qualify as a Certified Artisan at NQF Level 4.

Key Responsibilities

You must finish all training modules and tasks given to you. Take part in practical sessions and help with production work. Work under mentors and training officers, and assist with site duties as needed.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you need a Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science, or an N2 qualification. An N2 with subjects like Mathematics, Engineering Science, Platers Theory, and Platers Drawings helps your chances. You must be 35 years old or younger, physically fit, have a clear criminal record, and live within 50 km of Kriel Power Station. Be ready to move to Bethal if needed.

Required Documents

Submit certified copies of your updated CV, Grade 12 Certificate, N2 Certificate and results if you have them, South African ID, and proof of residence like a municipal account or affidavit.

This program is open only to Employment Equity candidates. No accommodation or transport is provided. Steinmüller Africa and Bilfinger Intervalve Africa will never ask for payment to process your application. The closing date is 22 May 2026.
