Financial Internship 2026

The Prince Albert Municipality Financial Internship provides hands-on training in municipal finance. It falls under the Financial Services Directorate and follows the Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP). This two-year fixed-term contract pays R108,000 per annum, all-inclusive.

To qualify, you need a three-year Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in fields like Accounting, Economics, Finance, Risk Management, or Auditing. You must be computer literate in MS Office, have strong management and communication skills, and be able to work under pressure. Applicants should be 21 to 35 years old and speak at least two official Western Cape languages well.

During the internship, you will learn about municipal budgeting, treasury functions, financial administration, policy work, and finance systems. You will sign an employment contract and an internship agreement.

Communications Internship 2026

The Communications Internship sits in the Office of the Municipal Manager. It lasts one year with a salary of R100,000 per annum, all-inclusive. Graduates in communications fields without work experience are welcome to apply.

Requirements include a National Diploma or Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or similar. You need MS Office skills, good communication, the ability to handle pressure, social media knowledge, and strong organization. Overtime work may be needed.

Key tasks include helping with communication programs, managing social media, updating the website, drafting newsletters and releases, public participation, event planning, admin support, and handling enquiries.
