Cisco Climate Project Details

Cisco funds this project to grow youth-led climate efforts in Kenya and Jordan. DOT Kenya will select digitally skilled youth to become Climate Champions. Training Structure

The program starts with a 4-week hybrid training in June 2026. It includes three weeks of online sessions and one week in person. Training covers climate action, research, community engagement, and leadership through hands-on activities.

Key Responsibilities

Climate Champions handle these main tasks:

  1. Conduct Community Surveys
    They run baseline surveys to spot local climate and environmental issues. This helps understand community needs from the start.

  2. Mobilize Community Members
    Champions coach people on green practices and ways to handle climate risks. They encourage active involvement.

  3. Lead Participatory Action Research Groups
    Each forms and guides a group of 7-9 members. They use group methods to explore issues.

  4. Gather Community Insights
    They collect views with participatory tools to find top climate priorities.

  5. Co-Design Climate Solutions
