Are you a recent graduate looking for hands-on experience in finance or risk management? The Government Employees Pension Fund (GEPF) Internships 2026 offer a great chance for South African youth to gain real-world skills. This program targets unemployed graduates and runs from June 2026 to March 2028 in Centurion, Gauteng.

Internship Overview

The GEPFuture Internship Programme provides structured training in key areas of finance and risk. It lasts 22 months and focuses on practical work inside one of South Africa’s biggest pension funds. Participants get exposure to public sector operations, building skills for future careers.

Available Internship Fields

GEPF offers two main internship types. Each requires specific qualifications at NQF Level 7.

Finance Intern

You need a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, or an Advanced Diploma in Accounting. Send applications to [email protected]. This role lets you work on financial tasks in a pension fund setting.

Risk Management Intern

Qualify with a Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Risk Management or Internal Auditing. Applications go to the same email address. Interns here learn to handle risks and audits in a large organization.

Minimum Requirements

To apply, you must be a South African citizen aged 18 to 35. Hold a completed 3-year Degree or Advanced Diploma at NQF Level 7. Show at least 60% average for undergraduate studies or 55% for postgraduate. List your academic averages clearly on your CV.

Important Conditions

GEPF will not accept applicants with prior internships or formal work experience in the field. Students still finishing their qualifications should not apply. The fund prefers candidates with disabilities and those from previously disadvantaged institutions.

Important Notes
