1. Internship: Executive Director’s Office

This role is in the Human Settlements Department (Reference Number: 008/2026). You need a diploma or degree at NQF Level 6 or 7 in fields like Business Management, Business Administration, Journalism, Media, Public Administration, or Public Management. Your duties include giving admin support, doing research, helping with reports and business plans, strategic planning, HR tasks, and event planning. This position builds your skills in office work and team support.

2. Internship: Transport Systems Management

Found in the Transport Department (Reference Number: 009/2026), this needs a diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Town and Regional Planning, or Transport Management. You will help with transport planning, policy work, traffic studies, stakeholder meetings, and development projects. It is great for those interested in city movement and infrastructure.

3. Internship: Quantity Surveyor

Also in Transport (Reference Number: 009/2026), this requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying at NQF Level 7. Tasks cover preparing project quantities, checking costs and invoices, supporting infrastructure programs, risk management, budgeting, and keeping projects on time and under budget. You will learn to handle real construction finances.

Who Can Apply: Minimum Requirements

To qualify, you must be a South African citizen, currently unemployed, and hold a relevant diploma or degree at NQF Level 6 or 7. You also need to commit to the full 18 months. No experience is required, but readiness to learn matters.
