The Limpopo Department of Co-operative Governance, Human Settlements and Traditional Affairs (CoGHSTA) has opened applications for its Graduate Internship Programme 2026. This program offers 65 internship spots for unemployed South African graduates. It gives hands-on experience in government work across many fields.

Program Overview

CoGHSTA runs this internship to help young people build skills in areas like administration, planning, ICT, finance, engineering, and community development. Available Internship Fields

The internships cover a range of professional areas. Each field matches specific qualifications. Here is a breakdown:

ICT and Technology

Roles include ICT security, systems development, ICT infrastructure, and ICT governance. You need a qualification in IT or Computer Science. These positions focus on tech support and security in government systems.

Records and Facilities Management

Duties cover registry services, HR records, and office support. A degree in Library Science or Public Administration works best. Interns handle document management and daily office tasks.

Governance and Administration

Options include HR management, communications, organizational development, and Batho Pele principles. Public Administration, HR, or Communications degrees qualify you. This area builds skills in people management and public service.

Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation

Work involves strategic planning, research, policy coordination, and performance monitoring. Public Management or Policy Studies qualifications fit. Interns track progress and help shape government plans.

Human Settlements Support

Tasks cover housing delivery, project coordination, and spatial planning. Town Planning or Civil Engineering degrees are required. These roles aid in building homes and planning communities.

Finance and Supply Chain

Positions include financial accounting, supply chain management, and internal audit. Accounting, Finance, or SCM qualifications apply. Interns learn budgeting and procurement in government.

Legal and Compliance

Roles focus on legal services, anti-fraud, and compliance. An LLB, Law, or Risk Management degree is needed. This field deals with rules and preventing corruption.

Infrastructure and Planning

Internships involve municipal infrastructure, disaster management, and development planning. Urban Planning or Engineering backgrounds qualify. Work supports roads, buildings, and emergency response.

Community Development

Areas include local economic development, integrated development planning, and community programs. Development Studies or Economics degrees match. Interns promote growth and local projects.

Who Can Apply

This program targets unemployed graduates who live in Limpopo. Applicants should be youth aged 18 to 35 and applying for the first time. Your qualification must match one of the listed fields.
