Undergraduate Degrees (BEng or BSc)

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Electronic Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Metallurgical Engineering
  • Chemistry (up to Honours level)
  • Geology (up to Honours level)
  • Data Science (including Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research)

BEng Tech

  • Mine Surveying (only at a University of Technology)

Postgraduate Degrees (MSc, MEng, or PhD)

Options cover advanced topics like:

  • Chemical Engineering (such as Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, or Process Modelling)
  • Chemistry (such as Catalysis, Polymer Science, Environmental Science, or Analytical Chemistry)
  • Cyber Security
  • Data Science (Applied Mathematics or Statistics)

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must meet these basics:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be under 30 years old.
  • Plan full-time studies at a recognized South African university.
  • Show strong academic results, with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy).

Distance learning, like at UNISA, does not qualify. Only degree programs count, not diplomas.

Important Conditions

Keep these rules in mind:

  • Submit only one application per person.
  • Apply online only; no emails or paper forms.
  • Provide correct and complete info, or face disqualification.
  • Competition is high, based on grades and Sasol’s business needs.

Prepare these for upload:

  • Latest academic results (Grade 11 or current).
  • Certified copy of your ID.
  • Any extra documents listed on the application site.
