Available Positions
SAST has four types of internships open. Here are the details for each one.
Graphic Designer Internship (1 Position)
This role sits in the SAST TV department and reports to the Associate Producer. You need a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Graphic Design or a related field, plus 0-1 year of experience. A portfolio in PDF or link form is required. Expect to create visuals for theatre TV projects.
Producer Internship (1 Position)
Also in SAST TV, this internship reports to the Associate Producer. Requirements include a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Media, Film & TV Production, Performing Arts, Theatre Production, Communication, or Journalism. You should have 0-1 year of experience. The work involves planning and coordinating TV content.
Sound Technician Internship (1 Position)
Found in the Stages department, it reports to the Senior Production Manager. A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Sound or a related field is needed, along with 0-2 years of experience. You will handle audio setup and operation for live stage events.
Videographer Internship (2 Positions)
These are in the Stages department and report to the Senior Production Manager. Applicants need a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Film and Television or equivalent, with 0-2 years of experience. Tasks include filming stage performances and events.
General Requirements
All positions share some basic needs. You must hold a National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in a matching field and have 0-2 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team are key. South African citizenship and unemployment status apply.
