This 12-month learnership is designed to equip you with essential skills in merchandising, sales, and customer service, setting you on a path toward a recognized qualification. If you meet the requirements and are eager to learn, this program could be your stepping stone to success.

About the CCBSA Visual Merchandiser Learnership

The CCBSA Visual Merchandiser Learnership Programme is a structured, 12-month workplace learning experience. It focuses on providing young individuals with hands-on exposure to the commercial and merchandising aspects of the beverage industry. Participants will gain practical skills in areas such as sales, effective merchandising, customer interaction, and retail execution. Upon successful completion, learners will earn a qualification that requires a minimum of 120 credits, demonstrating their acquired competencies.

Key Responsibilities in the Role

As a Visual Merchandiser Learner, you will play an active role in maintaining brand standards and driving sales within retail environments. Your duties will involve executing daily schedules and ensuring that products are displayed according to CCBSA’s visual merchandising standards. You will be responsible for managing stock rotation to ensure freshness and availability, as well as making sure products are prominently visible to customers. Completing iRED surveys and execution scorecards will also be part of your tasks to track performance and identify areas for improvement.

Furthermore, you will be involved in customer and sales support. This includes educating customers about the MyCCBA ordering platform, assisting with promotional activities to drive sales, and providing support to both customers and the sales teams. Operational support is also a key component, where you may be asked to provide relief support when needed, help maintain brand standards across different locations, and work closely with Account Developers and Sales Teams to ensure cohesive strategies.

Minimum Requirements for Applicants

To be considered for the CCBSA Visual Merchandiser Learnership Programme, candidates must meet several essential criteria. A Grade 12 or Matric certificate is a fundamental requirement. Proficiency in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy with a minimum score of 40% is also necessary. Additionally, applicants must have a minimum of 40% in English and a second language.

Candidates must be South African citizens and fall within the age range of 18 to 35 years old. It is crucial that applicants are unemployed at the time of their appointment and are available to work six days a week, as the role demands consistent presence and effort.

Additional Requirements and Advantages

Beyond the basic qualifications, there are a few additional requirements and factors that can give applicants an edge. Candidates must not have any criminal record or adverse credit history, and they must consent to background checks, including criminal, ID, and qualification verification. It is important that applicants are not currently studying full-time or enrolled in another learnership program, as this learnership is intended for those seeking dedicated workplace experience. Furthermore, individuals who have already completed the same learnership qualification will not be eligible.

Having a Driver’s Licence can be a significant advantage, as it may be required for travel between different retail locations. A post-matric qualification in Sales & Marketing would also be beneficial, demonstrating a foundational interest and understanding of the field.

Required Documents for Application

Prospective applicants need to prepare and submit a specific set of documents to support their application. A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) is essential, providing a comprehensive overview of your educational background and any previous work or volunteer experience. You will also need to submit a certified copy of your Matric certificate, confirming your secondary education completion. If you possess any other qualifications, certified copies of these should also be included. Lastly, if you have a Driver’s Licence, a copy of it should be submitted as well, as it is considered an advantageous document.
