Selection Process

Organizers expect up to 35 spots. If more people apply, they pick based on these factors:

  • Having datasets ready to publish with licenses cleared.
  • Representing institutions that hold data and plan to publish it.
  • Plans to run similar workshops later.
  • Interest in mentoring future events (needs advanced badge).
    They also aim for balance across geography and topics.

Schedule and Format

The workshop runs in English over three phases in 2026:

  • May 18-22: Self-paced preparatory activities online.
  • May 25, 28; June 1, 4: Live Zoom sessions from 08:00-12:00 CEST (UTC+2), plus 4 hours of self-paced work each day.
  • June 8-30: Self-paced certification exercises.
    All parts happen online, so join from anywhere with internet.
