SASSA TVET Learnerships: Gain Practical Experience in 2026
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is offering TVET College learners a valuable opportunity to gain practical workplace experience through its Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Programme for 2026. This program is designed to help students complete their qualifications by providing exposure to a professional government environment. Applications are open until May 29, 2026, for five available positions at the SASSA Regional Office in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
About the SASSA WIL Programme
The SASSA Work Integrated Learning programme specifically targets TVET College learners who need to fulfill workplace requirements for their studies. Participants will spend time at the SASSA Regional Office in Kimberley, gaining hands-on experience in various administrative and operational areas. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical application, preparing learners for future careers in the public sector.
Available WIL Opportunities and Qualifications
SASSA has five WIL posts available, each requiring specific N6 National Certificates or Statements of Results. These opportunities are spread across different departments within the agency:

Learners interested in this area must have completed N6 studies in Risk Management, Internal Audit, or Policing. This role will provide insight into how SASSA manages its risks and combats fraud.
Communications and Marketing (2 Posts)
For those with a passion for public relations and media, these posts require N6 qualifications in Public Relations or Media Studies. This will offer experience in how SASSA communicates with the public and promotes its services.
Customer Care (1 Post)

What Learners Will Gain
Successful applicants will benefit from exposure to several key areas of public sector operations. Learners will also get to observe customer service operations, learn about risk and compliance processes, and contribute to administrative support functions.
Who Should Apply?
This programme is best suited for TVET learners who have successfully completed their N6 theoretical studies and now require practical workplace exposure to obtain their National Diploma. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in public sector administration and service delivery, who are eager to learn and contribute.
